My story

Eres Tu

"Eres Tu" is the first Eurovision song of which I have a conscious memory, although my mother claims I already danced along to "La La La" in 1968, when I was under 2 years old.

I do remember the broadcast of the 1973 ESC (in our black and white TV), especially the nail biting jury voting and the expressions of stress and nervousness in Amaya's face (Mocedades lead singer) as Spain was getting close to victory, which eventually went to the also powerful Tu te reconnaitras. Although it came second, Eres Tu proved to be a much more successful song world wide. Arguably, for me, the best Eurovision entry ever.

Ever since, I have always looked forward to the voting as the most exciting part of the contest. Sadly one doesn't get every year thrilling cliff hangers like the ones we enjoyed in 2004, 2003, 1998 (nerve wrecking!), 1988, 1979 (the closest Spain has been to winning since Eres Tu), or the notorious tie in 1991 (France should have been proclaimed winner), etc..

But of course there are many other Eurovision songs, and from many other countries, that I love. I will be adding more information in due course.

My favorite countries

The following countries are my favorite Eurovision Song Contest participating nations;
Italy France
Spain United Kingdom
Cyprus Turkey
Israel Slovenia
