My story

As a child my parents used to play the old Eurovision classics such as "Merci Cherie" and "L'oiseau et enfant" on audio cassette as well as stars such as Vicki Leandros with "Après Toi". I remember watching my first Eurovision in 1983 with my parents (they have good taste ;-)) ) and I did not understand at that time how the Luxemburg song won, at least my mother was awefully disappointed because Israel was her favourite I guess. The great year came in 1985 as my sister recorded the ESC from Göteborg. After this, I was for ever addicted to ESC until today. Thank you sister!! I guess I became traumatised by Lill Lindfors brilliant hosting, her intro song and the well-known "dress" problem she had before the voting started......and of course the whole "aura" of ESC.....

To my favs....

Estonia 2002 & 2006 - Dear Sahlene and Sandra, if you should ever read this, I must tell you I almost
had hyperventilation when you both sang your songs. They were just
bombastic!!!!!!!!

Norway 2004 - I was so depressed when this song came last, actually shocked. I sing this song at least
four times a week: "High, over the rain. There's still a sun that can ease all your pain..."

Switzerland 1988 - That dress! That dress! Otherwise it would have been perfect. Everytime I see this
song a shudder goes through me. What power!

Sweden 1997 - I just love it. Full stop!

Estonia 1998 - Koit on the piano....aaahhhh....you just close your eyes and dream....

Iceland 1995 - Something to hear after Koit. Mmmmmm....(not the live version though)

Israel 2005 - One of the best voices ever at ESC, perfect dress and perfect composition. JUST PERFECT!!

Austria 1990 - That should have been a Top Five, seriously!! No questions asked.

Hungary 2005 - Wow! What a choreography! Powerful song with Gulasch and Paprika; very spicy!

Malta 1991 - A very interesting and soothing song...well composed and a massive comeback for Malta
then.

Sweden 2006 - "I Evighet"....I still can't stop singing it. I also recommend Carola's hit song "Genom Allt"
(Radio Version). That would have also been a terrific ESC song.

Of course there are many, many other brilliant songs....
